International Fluevog Day is best described as some of the best parts of other, slightly less famous days. The love of Valentine’s, mixed with the excitement of New Year’s and the fellowship of St. Patrick’s Day, pretty much makes Fluevog Day the best day of the year.
This International Fluevog Day promises to be bigger than anyone could have ever imagined, as neighboring vendors in all 14 major Fluevog cities, along with other online vendors across the World, are offering discounts and deals to help celebrate the greatest shoe shopping day of the year. Civic Recognition
Following Colorado’s bold step this past election year in making International Fluevog Day a state holiday, and other municipalities such as the Multinomah County in Oregon and Orange County in California jumping on board making every 15th of May a bank holiday, other cities across North America have since taken up the Fluevog Day cause. Fashionable cities across the world such as Joshua Tree CA, Hickering ON, andCambridge MA declared last year that International Fluevog Day should be paid holiday for all city employees. Other cities planning extravagant Fluevog Teal ticker-tape parades include Vernon, Sebastapol, Yolo, andArmstrong.
Every year John gives away thousands of pairs of teal laces, stickers, and buttons through his retail stores worldwide, as annual traditions include wearing teal laces on the day of days. “I remember when we started International Fluevog Day way back when I was a kid in Ancient Greece, we dyed our togas teal, and wow, was Socrates confused!” says John Fluevog. “You should have seen what the people wore to the Discoteques back then… teal togas and Fluevog sandals, it was hip man, real radical stuff happenin.”
Meanwhile, yodelers and characturists are on standby across North America, while knive swallowers are sharpening their wits. Last week, the finalists were chosen for the award winning television programFlueFactor, where contestants are timed doing rediculous stunts, like eating ant farms while reciting famous Fluevogian quotes, proving once again that Fluevog Day has become a cross-cultural phenomenon.
Ten Years of Fluevog Contest
Excitement has started to build as the day of announcement draws closer. John decided to continue last year’s International Fluevog Day tradition with an annual epic contest: WIN A NEW PAIR OF FLUEVOGS EVERY YEAR FOR 10 YEARS!! That means the lucky winner will never have to worry about being well shod until 2022! Can you even believe it?

This year, John thought it would be a nice gesture to give his employees a half hour off early on May 15th to join the celebrations. After a joyous ‘hooray,’ John realized this gesture was infectuous and decided to create a petition for everyone in the World to take off early on International Fluevog Day! We encourage you to sign The Fluevogian Petition to get off work 30 minutes early on Fluevog Day, and be part of the largest Fluevogian movement since sliced toast!
