Unfortunately I agree with Cheryl...I adore the look of these boots but there is something about the fit of this style that is not very comfortable. When I have worn them it is only for a short time. I've contemplated re-selling them but I just love the look of them. Maybe it's just me.....

UNWEARABLE :(

I absolutely LOVE how these boots look, but I tried wearing them twice in public and both times I had to take them off after 2 hours. My feet hurt so bad that I took them off and walked in my socks in public, to the uber, and through a hotel. I tried every insert, several kinds of socks and tested them around my home but nothing helps. What a waste of money :(

Love these boots

I was on the site looking for new inventory, and came across the Cupist cupcakes again. I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed these yet!

I purchased them well over 6 years ago, now it’s fall, and covid is starting to fade…. I’ll definitely be wearing my favorite boots out again soon!

They can be worn funky or dressy, so comfortable and chic and sleek- what ever you want!

They are pricy, but when you think about cost per wear, they are kind of free…. You will wear these gorgeous boots for years!!!

Powerful Shoe!

These shoes/boots make you feel so strong and powerful. They are edgy!!!

I purchased them a half size up from my size, after reading the reviews. That is, I'm usually a 7, but did purchase 7.5, which was a good choice.

The white ones are so sleek and command attention. Wear them on days that you want to conquer the world. They are quite the attention grabber! They are really special shoes/boots. Enjoy!

Stunners

I have about 10 pairs of fluevogs, but I must say these are my favourites . They are the most stunning looking boots in the world . You’ll be almost afraid to wear them because they are soooo beautiful and won’t want to ruin them. But trust me. You’ll get over it once you put them on. I’m usually a 9 in other brands of shoes but my Fluevogs are usually a 91/2 and they fit perfectly !! Totally stunning !!! Xoxo

Fits a size small

In 2018 I bought a pair of size 12s (my normal size) and was so sad to find they didn't fit. Back then Fluevog didn't make anything bigger so I gave up on every having a pair. A few days ago I got the urge to search their site to see what was new and was astonished to see that this style now comes in 13s +. The 13s fit!! They're just as soft and amazing as I remember. The laces take a little extra time to adjust upon first wear, but they're a dream to wear. Thank you for making sizes larger than 12s (so that people who truly wear a 12 can fit them)

LOVE THEM

I wear anywhere from an 8-10 depending on shoes, and I went to try these on in a 9 but they were out so I tried the 9.5 and they were PERFECT. Needless to say they came home with me. This particular leather is very stiff and doesn't have a lot of stretch, so definitely better to go up a half size or so to accommodate for that. I have a high instep and these do not rub or cause ANY pain on the top of my foot. LOVE THEM.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed these yet!

I've been a longtime Vogger and lifelong boot enthusiast, and the Swordfish family is basically my dark little soul made flesh. I had been out of the flue-scene for a bit, and somehow, somewhere, I saw the Cubist Cupcakes and was floored. I raced into my local store but they had long sold out. I managed to get one of the last pairs in my size of the first run (black leather) online and it was a match made in the most unconventional part of heaven. They fit TTS for me at a size 7. I'm usually a 7-7.5 with a narrow and high instep, and a slightly wider forefoot. I do wear a thin cushion insole in them because I am on my feet for work, and have still worn them for 10+ hours happily. Thank you, John Fluevog, for always coming through for us weirdos who hate basic-ass shoes <3

WOWZA

These are so spectacular that both my girlfriend and I bought them - in RED! They are very comfortable even tho you have a heel. The zipper makes them easy on and off. They are stunning. These are a prized possession! A big thank you to Josh at the Toronto store! He was amazing to work with!! I saw another review that said, don't try them on unless you are ready to buy them. They are awesome!

I am in love

I wear a 9.5 in the red slacker tardys and Zachary but I got these in a 10. The fit is perfect. These are very comfortable. Enough so that they can be worn all day no problem. They're so well made and look curiously stunning!

My husband gifted these for Christmas. Thankful !

I own three other pairs of vogs. I have only returned one pair and that experience was lovely! Hats off to you hard working folk at JF shoes. Always answering my emails and always just so humble.

Okay this is my forth pair of the Cubistcupcake Swordfish boot

I just don’t know what to say……but these boots are so tough and funky…I have them in Black, White Snakeskin, Pink with the orange heel, and in the Camouflage(?)…. I got my eye on the newest Bauhaus Bubblegum Gingham… I’d say that I am a fan of this style of boot…..thee boots make me feel unique and authentic…. Try them you just might love them

OMG what the hell!

OMG,

I just received my "Swordfish Cubist Cupcake White Croc Boots" that I purchased for my 64th birthday on 12/24. And, what on this green earth can I say. These "bad boys" are the bomb digidy. The picture on the website does them absolutely no justice at all. They are so bad ass that words can't describe them. This is my 3rd pair of Swordfish boots and I am a forever loyalist to this style. Trust and believe when I say these boots make a statement “I'm here and I dare anybody to try and compete." Thank you, John Fluevog, for allowing me to purchase these boots at the sale price. When I initially purchased these boots, they were not on sale and a few days later they were. That's wonderful customer service. Once again, I will proudly do my soulful strut in these boots and I will not see myself coming around the corner in these or my other two pairs of Swordfish boots. If you are in doubt, go ahead and purchase these boots you won't regret it.... So, let me go on with my bad self and strut...because they are “bad mama jammas”

A witches dream!

I just got these shipped from New York today, they’re just divine! They’re stiff as hell but I’m grateful I did size up as I like having toe room. It was a bit of a struggle to get the zipper up so I didn’t have to mess with the lacing, but they are really sturdy. Everything about the aesthetic and quality of this boot is top notch and hotter than hades! Can’t wait to break em in and flaunt around town. So so happy I decided to splurge. I’m really impressed.

I never like black but...

I got these in black to try for size because I thought I wanted the (on sale) white croc because I never like black shoes. I ended up keeping them and sending two other not black shoes back because they go with everything and make me feel like an assassin.

I have narrow feet, long toes, and a very high instep (very hard to fit). I always call the Boston store to check fit since I don’t live near a store anymore. She said to size up unless my feet are very narrow. Which they are. I got my usual 6.5 and they’re amazing. I’m so happy for all the pointed toes happening right now. They let my weirdo feet fit.

And now I have a pair of black short boots. Wore them to the eye dr today because it not like I go anywhere else. They were appreciated.

Horrible quality

I have been a loyal customer for years and was terribly disappointed with the quality of these boots and the customer service. The zipper was not sewn in properly and the refuse to fix it. Despite these being beautiful to look at the quality is not worth the price.

A Happy Surprise

Not only did I discover that a pair of the old White Snake style Cubist Cupcakes had resurfaced online, but they were located in my local Gastown store.

I went t try them on, convincing myself they would be uncomfortable and too high. Wrong, wrong, wrong!!! These boots are deceptively comfortable and secure your foot in place (no wobbly ankles). I tried on my regular vog size 10, unbelievably surprised and delighted they fit and were so comfy - and a gorgeous statement boot too. Love!

red velvet cupcakes, yummy!

I'm SOO in love with these sexy funky boots. They're so comfy and look so hot. I'm normally 9.5/10 in vogs, with a narrow heel and wide toe box, and got these in 10 for a little extra width in the toe.

I'm sorry I missed out on the 47th anniversary version, but I wasn't going to let these babies get away.

Bewitching

I have been ogling these beautiful shoes since they came out - pining, fantasizing, but was certain they would kill my feet what with their high heel and narrow last (I have hereditary bunions - ouch). I looked at other Swordfish with lower heels, but they just didn't grab me. Well, I finally tried on a pair while my hubby was doing his own shoe shopping, just on a whim, to prove to myself they were not tenable for me. Guess what? I was wrong. They were comfortable. So comfortable. They are supportive, wonderfully adjustable, lightweight,not too narrow and easy to walk in. I bought them right there, even though I knew Fluevog Day was in 2 weeks...Warning:if you try these on, you will want to buy them. You will not be patient, or rational, and you won't regret it. Love!

I'm funky as I want to be

I did the soulful strut in these boots today with my pencil skirt. The hem of the skirt stopped just below the ankle where the boots buckle up .... Oh my goodness, I enjoyed every minute in these boots.... I had the nerve to come back to the website and look for another color...I stopped myself and decided to write this review.... I could have gone up 1/2 size, but it's fine.....these boots are made so well and are worth every penny I sacrificed to purchase them....No regrets, and the customer service is the bomb digidy.....

Adore!

I wear size 10 in non-Fluevogs and pretty consistently 11 in Fluevogs but I was still worried the toe area would be too narrow and tight. However, they seem to be perfect! I'm wearing them with medium-thick socks and my toes have plenty of room. They're snug around the ankle and heel, but nothing lace adjustment and general breaking in won't remedy, I believe. I was worried the heel would be too high and uncomfortable as I generally don't often wear shoes with much of a heel, but these are amazingly comfortable. They also look incredible! They elevate whatever I'm wearing to a new plane of style. I kinda want to wear these boots every day for the rest of my life!

Too snug

I was excited to see that they had restocked these boots in a size 12 and took the plunge.

I'm heartbroken that they don't fit.

There's no way that they fit "true to size". They're atleast a size small due to the pointed toe. I normally wear a 12 and I don't have wide feet, but these just didn't work.

The leather is buttery soft and the laces are fully adjustable, so once you get them synched to your liking, you're golden. But definitely order a size up.

Beautiful Boots

This are very good looking boots, however, they are a bit on the narrow side so keep that in mind. There are very uncomfortable parts in the inside of the shoe that might just need to be broken into. Other than that it is a looker!

SWORDFISH ADDICTED; best boots I own!

I can't get enough of these boots! I bought them as soon as I could upon release and wear them almost every day. They're sure to get you many compliments and are great for going out (comfortable, stylish), but also look wonderfully classy with business attire. I found that these ran small; I'm usually an 8.5 in other brands, 9 in Fluevog, and for these I had to get a 9.5. I have wide feet with a high arch, thin heel, and short toes, but the 9.5 fits like it was made for me! Can't wait to see what Vogs come out next; I'm swordfish addicted after these.

Yes I'm on the SIZE train too!

With the pointy toe shoes you need extra room which I'm sure you know. I'm a size 10 so most of the shoes I love, I can't have. My mom bought me a pair of Sinead's because we were browsing through one day and said I loved them. They just showed up. Size 10 and no bloody way. What's worse sending them back was size 10 was the largest made. There are quite a few wicked shoes/boots that need to be available in larger sizes unless there is reasoning behind it

Fair warning

Don't try these on unless you plan on buying them. I was shocked by how comfortable they were despite the heel. My feet are wide, so I went up a half size from my usual. I can walk a mile in these after wearing them all day with very few problems.

I didn't plan on buying them, but I can't regret it. They look just as great with a fluffy tulle skirt as they do with black skinny jeans.
