In 1970, John joined forces with fellow Sheppards co-worker Peter Fox to start up their own shoe store in historic Gastown, Vancouver. At first Fox & Fluevog only carried men's shoes, but after a few successful years, the pair opened a second location selling ladies heels and clogs right around the corner at 211 Carrall Street. Continuing the Fluevog heritage by using classic partial blake construction with soles and uppers made from high-grain Italian leathers, the 211 Carrall Street is a sleek and simple formal shoe for the classiest vintage suits.

  • Black and Brown colo(u)rways now available in extended sizes 14-17!

  • Go tos

I have had these shoes for 3 years and I probably wear them 3x per week. I'm on my 3rd heel, second sole and second topy. If you buy these I would suggest getting topy put on before you wear them; a new sole + topy was $90. Just topy is about $30. If you keep them polished, use a shoe tree at night and overshoes in winter these shoes last.

  • Chaussure incroyable

  • Response to another customer review

To the gentlemen above who commented that his shoes lost their "finish" after a few months. Basic shoe care dictates that you moisturize, polish and generally maintain the leather. If you don't, of course you will end up with terrible looking shoes. Don't blame Fluevog for you mistakes.

  • They looked great but...

I purchased these fine looking shoes in mid-may and fell in love with them. Incredibly comfortable and sharp looking. The downside is that the finish on the leather only lasted until mid july. I paid $280 for shoes that lasted two months. The customer service I received was deplorable and I was left on my own with my ruined shoes. I would love to continue wearing Fluevog's but based upon my experience with these I will never purchase anything else from Fluevog. (:`(

  • Classic/Comfortable "Dressy" shoe

Having already owned 2 other pairs of Fluevogs I knew where to go when I needed a brown pair of dress shoes. The friendly, attentive staff at Fluevog Boston are always amazing in helping or even just for conversation and witty banter.

I really like the classic silhouette of the shoe. It is sleek and refined both from the side and front. I like my shoes to run a little wide but these only took less than a week to break in. It will go great with any suit that you decide to pair it with.

That being said it can also be a very classy show piece for casual wear. I was given the turquoise laces to put in. The color combination between the cognac brown and the bright pop of turquoise, that is so apparent around Fluevog, is far from subtle but strangely perfect . I have gotten many enthusiastic compliments while wearing these with both jeans and cords.

The little details are what make something great. The full leather sole with only a rubber cap on the back, the exposed brass rivets in the heel, the craftsmanship, and the ability to wear these with both jeans and slacks, both dressy and funky are what make this a no brainer.

  • How can you not?

I had been eyeing these shoes up for a while and figured I had to make a move when I noticed there was only 1 pair left. I can't believe it took me that long! Comfortable. Sharp.Stylish. What more could you ask for?

  • these shoes are so sleek and sexy. very comfy. the soles are very slippery. a good stroll on some pavement should help with that tho

  • I love these shoes!

These are the nicest shoes I've ever owned. I've worn Vog's for about 15 years now, and these are probably the nicest looking and best made pair so far. The soles are deadly slippery, so I recommend getting them toppied. It took a couple of weeks for my heels to stop hurting and for the shoes to break in, but now they feel great.
