John Fluevog Shoes is rounding out its highly unique 50th year in business with the exciting and much anticipated re-issuing of his iconic Grand Nationals. Not seen since the 90’s the Vintage Vogs have existed solely on many Fluevoger wish lists over the years and John is pleased to be bringing them back into the fold as part of his Fall/Winter 2020 collection.
“I have always thought the Grand Nationals were the most primal fantasy shoe I have ever designed and probably the hardest shoe to get made that I have ever done. It took major patience and long term endurance on my part,” says John.
“Another little known fact is that when the original factory that first produced our Grand Nationals shut down, the original shoe last for that design was lost and we were unable to reproduce them,” John explains. “It took an immense effort by our incredible team to use all the tools at our disposal to recreate the design and I’m grateful that we’re able to have them as part of our 50th Anniversary celebrations.”
The vampy side-laced designs feature a uniquely curved wedge platform heel and are now available at Fluevog stores and online in two versions, a shoe as well as a tall boot.
