Fluevog Post Interview: TanAya in New Orleans

[This interview first appeared in Issue 9 of The Fluevog Post (Fall/Winter 2017)]

TanAya Richards, Fluevog New Orleans Manager
Years with Fluevog: 2

Where are you from?
I grew up in Binghamton, NY and in 2003, moved to San Francisco to go to The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. I ended up living in the Bay Area for 7 years before moving to Austin. I’ve been in NOLA for 3 years now!

What were your first pair of Fluevogs?
My first pair were the Blake boots and I love them so much I already have a second pair. I wear them with everything from jeans to dresses and yes, I still rock them when it’s 90 degrees and humid!

Describe New Orleans in a nutshell
New Orleans is like nowhere else in the US! It’s culturally diverse, laid back, eclectic and charming. (Watch out for the pavement ants!)

NOLA favorites for:
Sightseeing: The French Quarter (of course), City Park and Magazine St. I also love the NOLA social ride. It happens every Thursday and is basically a big mobile party on bikes!
Food: LA Thai and El Gato Negro (best tacos ever!)
Relaxing: Kayaking on the bayou is my favorite Sunday activity. Don’t worry about gators! If they’re in there, they haven’t bothered me at all. I have yet to see one.

Favorite part of working for Fluevog?
The people! My team and everyone I’ve been fortunate enough to meet from the rest of the company are exceptional. This is the best job I’ve ever had in a long career of retail!
