About Autopilot Empires:

Adrienne Hatkin Seely of Autopilot Empires Jewelry is a jeweler, musician and printmaker originally from Montclair, NJ. Her jewelry-making career began when, as a bartender at a corporate restaurant, the employees were given a memo restricting the wearing of jewelry. “Earrings must be no larger than a quarter” it read among other pettifogging rules. As a tiny act of defiance, Hatkin Seely made earrings out of quarters for she and her co-workers. Realizing that the quarter earrings looked great, she began designing more pieces with coins – including the popular Coin Locket – and soon after quit the corporate service job to create full time. She sells her wares at Portland Saturday Market and various Oregon boutiques. She also plays accordion and sings in the band Autopilot is for Lovers and creates block-printed apparel with her husband and dachsund in Portland, OR.
